Kool-Aid Playdough

In a recent sensory play workshop I was given a recipe for kool-aid playdough.  It the same recipe that I usually use to make homemade playdough with the exception that kool-aid is used instead of food coloring.  The playdough smells so good and I loved experimenting with the different kinds of kool-aid.

The children really loved playing with it as well.  We did a survey of which scent was their favorite … orange got the most votes while lemonade received the least.  The source provided for the recipe was the kraftrecipes.com website.

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
2 tsp of cream of tartar
1 packet of unsweetened kool-aid
1 cup of water
1Tbsp of oil

Mix the first four ingredients together in a sauce pan and add the water and oil.  Cook over medium heat stirring frequently for about five minutes or until a ball of dough forms.  Remove from heat and take the playdough out of the pan and place on a sheet of wax paper.  Let cool.
